Davenport Motor Company - Doing Things
Right and Doing the Right Thing
William
Craig Davenport and David Davenport founded
Davenport Motor Company and opened its doors for
business November 1, 1996. The Lexus repair and
service facility was started because of a need
for an alternative to the dealership. The goal
was to provide quality service with many of the
same services provided by the dealer at
lower cost.
Craig Davenport
had worked for Sewell Lexus since 1990 and had
held positions as group leader and service
manager. David Davenport also worked at Sewell
Lexus from 1992 to 1996, also holding the
position of group leader.
Our first
location was a lease space of approximately
3,500 sq.ft. at 13654 Floyd Circle in Dallas,
Texas, that was expanded to 6,500 sq.ft. in
1998. In April of 2001 Davenport Motor Company
purchased a 7,800 sq.ft. building at 4010 W.
Plano Parkway in Plano, Texas, and in October of
2005 we opened our second location at 2419
Inwood in Dallas, Texas.
Jimy
Wright began working with Davenport Motor
Company in November of 1998. Jimy had been with
Sewell Lexus in the pre-owned department and as
a master service consultant. Daniel Davenport came on
board in September of 1998 after having worked
for Sewell Lexus and Park Place Lexus. When Davenport Motor Company moved to
its new Plano Parkway location, both Jimy and
Daniel became partners in the company.
Currently,
Davenport Motor Company employs 20 experienced
people, has a customer base of about 10,000
Lexus owners, has a customer retention rate of
85% and draws an average of 50 new customers
weekly. |
