“Should I keep my current car or start looking for a new one?” This can be such a frustrating and confusing question for car owners, and is one we are frequently asked. As a Lexus and Toyota repair service center, we have access to information that is not available to most consumers. So we decided to research our own data and see what we could find. Focusing specifically on high-mileage vehicles (which Lexus & Toyota are famous for!), the question we asked is: Is it less expensive to maintain your car and keep driving it if you like it, or is it less expensive to get a new car with a car payment? We break it down below with examples of cars with mileage, how long the customers have been coming to Davenport, how many visits and what the average per month is for cumulative repairs. Back to School Tips: It’s time again to go back to school, but are you ready? It’s important to have all of your school supplies, you alarm clock set, but also making sure your car is in tip-top shape! Here are some of our tricks to start your school year off right; Check your tires and brakes: Take your car in and make sure the tread on your tires is still at an acceptable wear level. Also, check your brake pads and break fluids. The weather may be shifting and it can also have an impact on the air level in the tire as well. Change your oil: As we begin to move into the cooler months, make sure to change your oil when it’s due. It may also be time to change out your air filter. December 2006 Dear Davenport Customer, Last week my wife and I attended a brunch with members of our Sunday School Class and enjoyed hearing a young pianist who included a classical selection followed by traditional Christmas carols. He read “I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day”. The message made me pause to think about those who may have encountered stress, pain and seem to have lost peace.
